Gunn Jr. looks to go 8-0 on Friday

Undefeated prospects Bobby Gunn Jr. and Henry Stewart of Hackensack, NJ return to the ring in separate bouts Friday evening at the Old National Center in Indianapolis, IN.

Fighting for the third time in 30 days, Gunn Jr. is 7-0 with 5 wins by knockout and the 19-year-old middleweight meets grizzled veteran Guy Packer in a four round rematch. The two fought in Indiana on April 29, but the bout was stopped multiple times due to issues with the ring canvas. In the final round with yet another issue caused by the ring canvas, the bout was sent to the scorecards early and Gunn earned the victory on the scorecards. Packer, who fought many top fighters, believes he can turn the tides this time around.

Stewart, 1-0 (1 KO), turned pro April 29 with a 25 second knockout. On Friday evening, Stewart challenges 14 fight veteran Martez Williamson in a four round cruiserweight contest. The experienced Williamson, who hails from Akron, OH, fought nine undefeated fighters and has only been stopped three times.

“This is a fight that Little Bobby needed to take. His rhythm was thrown off in the first fight due to the issues with the ring and he told me he wants to completely dominate on Friday. Henry is facing an experienced opponent that could give him some rounds. He hits very hard and this will be a good test for him. Overall, I’m glad to have both Bobby Jr. and Henry fighting again because keeping young fighters active is very important,” said Bobby Gunn Sr., trainer and manager of both fighters.
